The Other Side of the BluesThe "flipside" of a hit record often featured a more interesting and
adventurous sound than the hit itself. Likewise, Flipside a Falmouth-based
duo, aims to find the "other" sound of the blues that keeps audiences
intrigued. Bassist/singer Melissa Roberts Weidman and pianist/singer Chris
LoCascio explore the connection between blues and jazz in their mix of old
standards, originals and instrumentals. They do so with a healthy helping of
improvisation, keeping the blues form creative and fresh. Flipside was named
finalists in the Boston Blues Challenge, and have twice been winners of the
Cape Cod Songwriting Festival. Their CD of all-original songs "Along for
the Ride" has received critical praise as " It just delivers in so many
ways. It is evident that beyond being solid musicians with original, quirky
material, these folks are having fun. It is music that at first listen
charms you, then ever so slowly becomes the favorite one that you pop daily
